Hurrican Irma Service Update on 9/14/17

We are extremely grateful to our passengers for the patience you have shown during these difficult times for our community and for Tri-Rail. Since the horrific damage inflicted by Hurricane Irma, we have been diligently working to restore service to the level of reliable transportation you have come to expect. As always, safety is and continues to be our number one priority and our commitment to our passengers and to our employees.

Our ability to communicate with you has been severely hampered by damaged phone lines into customer service. We have devised a solution where by passengers can call into 1-800-TRI-RAIL (874-7245) to access a recording that will provide the most current information regarding service resumption, as it becomes available.

One of the biggest challenges we are facing is the removal of large, downed trees fouling the rail corridor. Crews will be working around the clock to facilitate the clearing of the right of way. Issues with commercial power outages also continue to negatively impact our ability to run service. We are collaborating diligently with FPL as they continue to work toward restoring their service to pre-Irma levels.

One of our stations, Golden Glades, was damaged beyond immediate repair. A bus bridge around that station will be necessary to enable service resumption. We are working to implement that plan as soon as it is feasible to do so.

When service begins, it will be on a limited basis.  Our objective will be to transport passengers from Point A to Point B as safely and in as timely a manner as is possible.  This will not be easy given the challenges we are still facing. We are aiming to create a schedule that, while not the one you are accustomed to, will be one that is sustainable once implemented.

You, your family and your friends are foremost in our thoughts. Serving you is a privilege we do not take lightly. Our pledge to you is that we will restore safe and reliable service to our community as soon as it is humanly possible.
