
We recommend all passengers to file a Lost & Found Report immediately after realizing an item has been lost, by calling the Customer Service Department at 1-800-TRI-RAIL (874-7245).
Items recovered by SFRTA staff are logged by security officers and turned over to the Lost & Found Department within 48 hours. Items turned over are matched against the Lost & Found Report. If there is a match, SFRTA will contact the owner with further instructions on how to retrieve any recovered items.
Helpful Tips:
- File a Lost & Found Report as soon as you realize you have lost an item.
- Be specific and provide as much detail as you can when describing your item, as well as the time and place where the item was last in your possession.
- Always call even when in doubt. Items recovered by Lost and Found may come from locations nearby Tri-Rail property.
- Tri-Rail’s Customer Service Department is open weekdays from 4 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., weekend and holiday hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Items collected by Lost and Found are kept for 90 days before they are discarded, per
SFRTA/Tri-Rail policy.
